Stainless and Galvanized Wire Rope for Marine Use
Not every application calls for the same alloy. We stock stainless steel for boat lifts in Type 304 and Type 316 grades.
We offer two primary stainless steel grades tailored to environmental exposure:
- Type 316. Formulated with molybdenum for enhanced resistance to chloride corrosion, making it the ideal choice for saltwater and coastal environments.
- Type 304. Engineered for freshwater applications where corrosion risk is lower, delivering durable performance at an optimized cost.
Galvanized wire rope is a cost-effective alternative for freshwater docks and enclosed lift systems where direct salt spray isn’t a concern. The zinc coating adds a meaningful layer of corrosion protection without the material cost of stainless.
When the application calls for additional abrasion or impact protection, we also offer nylon- and vinyl-coated cable. Coating reduces wear at contact points such as pulleys, drums, and guides, which extends service life in high-cycle lift systems.
